Herald Sun World Cycling Classic Ballarat
A prelude to the much anticipated 2010 UCI Road World Championships, the Herald Sun World Cycling Classic Ballarat will be the final hit out for the some of the world’s best riders and the first opportunity for Australian’s to see them in action.
A response to the requests of several national federations, the Herald Sun World Cycling Classic Ballarat will be held on Sunday, 26 September. The one day event will consist of two events; a women’s race of approximately 90km and a men’s race combined with U23 men of approximately 145km.
Hosted in the City of Ballarat, starting and finishing at Buninyong, the course will travel a 19km closed circuit with the final lap following the road race course used for the Australian Open Road Championships.
The Herald Sun World Cycling Classic Ballarat will create a bumper weekend of cycling in the goldfields city with the Australian Masters Championships expected to attract more than 800 interstate and international competitors across five days of competition (Friday, 24 to Tuesday, 28 September).
