2012 Cycling Australia U15 & U17 Road National Championships.

The 2012 Cycling Australia U15 & U17 Road National Championships concluded in Canberra on Sunday with some thrilling criterium action at Mt Stromlo Park.

Jack Edwards (NSW) broke through for his first medal of the weekend with a sensational victory in the under 17 men's event.  In an exciting race, Edwards nudged Victoria's Jack Hickey (VIC) and Bradley Heffernan (NSW) in a sprint to the line.

In the under 17 women's field, Josie Talbot claimed her third overall medal of the championships, taking the win over Tasmania's Lauren Perry and Bridget Mullany (NSW).  Talbot also claimed the gold medal in Friday's time trial and collected the silver medal behind Perry in the road race.

Perfection was the order of the day for Cameron Scott (NSW) in the under 15 men's event as he once again proved far too good for his rivals. Scott, who blitzed the field in Friday's time trial and recorded a solid victory in Saturday's road race, rode to his third gold medal of the championships ahead of Tasmania's Samuel Maney and West Australia's Jarrod Karel.

West Australia's Niken Jefferies stopped an all NSW whitewash on Sunday's results with victory in the under 15 women's event. Jeffries, who finished fourth in both the time trial and road race, went straight to the top of the podium after winning from the New South Wales pairing of Natasha Mullany and Jessie Saunders.

The championships were contested at Mt Stromlo Park and was promoted by Cycling Australia (CA) in partnership with Cycling ACT.
